Hans Christian von Baeyer is Chancellor Professor of Physics, Emeritus, at the College of William and Mary. He is the author of several books and the recipient of the Science Journalism Award of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Magazine Award, which cites his "uncommon literary grace".
