Adrian German is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Indiana University Bloomington. In March of 2016 he was the organizer of a very successful pre-conference workshop at SIGCSE (with Mark Taber from Pearson and Marc Wandschneider from Google UK). With help from three of his students (Santiago Salmeron, Wonyong Ha and Bo Henderson) he organized, later that year, a second workshop (at SIGITE). He has had presentations at ITiCSE (2013), ISSOTL (2015, 2019), ECEL (2011, 2019), FIE (2004), SIGCSE (2008, 2014) and has been a SIGCSE session chair several times in the past (in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015).

At IU Adrian German is the recipient of multiple awards for excellence in teaching (both departmental, student choice awards and Trustees' Teaching Awards). In 2005 and 2008 he was co-chair (once with Hector Zenil and once with Anthony M Martin) to two conferences on randomness and computation held in Bloomington, IN, that have resulted in two books to which he contributed (as a co-editor) with chapters: Randomness and Computation (2011) A Computable Universe (2012). Some of the guest speakers at those two conferences (in person or via videolink): Ray J Solomonoff, Ed Fredkin, Gregory Chaitin, David Deutsch, Lov K Grover, Stephen Wolfram, Seth Lloyd, Charles Bennett, Cristian Calude, Tom Toffoli.
