David Bunde (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaigne) writes to let us know that the UIUC theory group heading for Bloomington next Saturday will be composed of 10-11 people.

The 53rd Midwest Theory Day will be at Purdue on December 2, 2006. An official announcement will be made at the forthcoming meeting.

Title and abstract for the invited presentation have been received. They will be indexed shortly on our web site.

For those that want or need to come as early as Friday and will need accomodation, here's excellent information about Bloomington (also to be indexed on the directions page soon). You may be able to find a room if you call soon despite the fact that May 6, 2006 is Commencement Day for IU. Here's a direct link to hotels and motels in the area. (Perhaps this link is even more direct, although the previous one has significantly more breadth). There are also maps and directions on the website, for example this wonderful interactive map.

Purdue University (through Prof. Gopal Panduragan) offers to be the host of the next (the fifty-third) Midwest Theory Day, in December.

Xiaoyang Gu (Iowa State University) submits the paper "Dimension Characterizations of Complexity Classes" (.pdf here) for presentation at the meeting (joint work with Jack H. Lutz).

Gopal Panduragan (Purdue University) submits a title "Complexity of Combinatorial Optimization in Power Law Graphs" and an abstract (to be indexed here soon) for his presentation to this conference.

Kevin Milans (Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) submits a title "Parity Edge-Coloring of Graphs" and an abstract for a paper he would like to present at the conference.

As of today prof. Fan Chung Graham's invited lecture is cross-listed with the Indiana University School of Informatics Colloquia. A title and an abstract for the talk are forthcoming along with additional details.

Christine Cheng (Univ. of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) indicates that her student Eric McDermid would like to present "Hardness Results on the Man-Exchange Stable Marriage Problem with Short Preference Lists" (work by E. McDermid, C. Cheng and I. Suzuki).

Lindley Hall 102 is confirmed/reserved as of today for the conference.

Predrag Tosic (Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) also submits a title for a talk he would like to present at this meeting: "Computational Complexity of Some Enumeration Problems in Sparse Boolean Network Automata"

Dan Cranston from the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign indicates that he intends to participate and also give a talk.

Erin Wolf Chambers (Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) submits the title of the work she would like to present at this meeting: "Splitting (Complicated) Surfaces is Hard", by Erin Wolf Chambers, Eric Colin de Verdiere, Jeff Erickson, Francis Lazarus, and Kim Whittlesey.

Judy Goldsmith (University of Kentucky) indicates it might be difficult for her group to attend but they will be in touch.

David Bunde confirms that the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign theory group will attend this meeting.

After consulting with Adrian Dumitrescu (University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee) Gruia Calinescu and Michael Pelsmajer (from the Illinois Inst. of Technology) John Rogers (at DePaul) and Paul Purdom (in Bloomington) it is determined that it might be a good idea for the 52nd Midwest Theory Day to be held on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University.
