Assignment 3 (Parsing)

Due Date: February 12, 1997

To submit your assignment, run:

/cs/classes/cis461/wi97/submit files

This will copy all of the files you specify to a directory where I can get them. You can "unsubmit" any of the files:

/cs/classes/cis461/wi97/usubmit files

You can keep doing this as many times as you want as long as your final work has been submitted by the deadline.

Exercises

You will need to look at the manual for ML-Yacc (/local/apps/sml/doc/yacc-manual.ps). Read Chapter 3 of Appel's book and the Appendix on the Tiger language. Do the program on page 74. Here are the supporting files as described in the book:

sources.cm
errormsg.sml
tiger.lex.sml
parsetest.sml
tiger.grm
small.tig (A small test file that should run in the skeleton parser I gave.)
test.tig (A bigger test file for you when you complete your parser.)

You will not need the file

base.sml

that the book mentions.
