We will be using BEST's PostEm to post grades.

I will post a link to the student interface on the A348 website.

You will be grading once a week (we agreed on Sat noon-8pm to be
the weekly grading session to be posted on the website).

Students are allowed to re-submit each assignment twice (for a total
of three submissions if they submit by the deadline). Re-submissions
must be at least a week apart (since you grade weekly) and submissions
more than a month after the deadline will be discarded and not taken
into account.

You will be posting grades Sunday night or Monday morning in Postem.

You could add a column comment after each assignment column. Remember
that with PostEm commas should appear only in the last column. Better
not to use commas whatsoever. (I haven't used any so far in this message.)

I will post the grading guidelines periodically and will send them to you
so you can take them into account at the end of the week. Here are those
for the assignments turned in so far:

Lab One: graded by me, I will let you regrade it.
   to be graded with the script posted
   10 points if ~ is 711
   10 points if ~/public is 755
   10 points if ~/public/whoa.tar.gz is 644
   10 points if it's a valid tar file
   30 points if it has the right structure
      10 points for experiments
      10 points for documents
      10 points for programs
   10 points for a reasonable (and personalized) doc1.txt
   10 points for a reasonable (and personalized) doc2.txt 
Any points above this based on extra work (that could include
specific info about the contents of doc1.txt and doc2.txt)

Lab Two: not graded yet, should be graded right away.
   18 points for each script posted
   Take away 10 points for each missing link.
   Take away 20 points if not indexed properly (be strict).
   Take away 20 points if table template is missing. 
Again give extra points (making it a big A or even an A+) if
justified (extra work).

Lab Three: not graded yet, should be graded right away.
   30 points for template on the website
   30 points for proper indexing in the website
   30 points for being able to access it via password 
Same considerations apply regarding extra points.

Lab Four: can be graded this coming weekend.
   Experiment One has two parts: 15 points each.
   Experiment Two has two parts: 15 points each.
   Experiment Three has three parts: 10 points each. 
Let me know if you need guidelines for what the answers should be.

Homework One: graded by me, I will let you handle the regrades.
   30 points for a clear picture of the webmaster
   30 points for escaped HTML code in the page
   30 points for their server being up at the time you check
Notice that if the server is down they get a 0 (zero) for that submission. 
Extra points only for really extra nice work.

Homework Two: was due last Friday. Should be graded right away.
   50 points for the non-CGI.pm version.
   50 points for the CGI.pm version.
   Take away 25 points if the source code is not available.
   Take away 15 if it's available but improperly formatted (hard to read)
Otherwise points are like this for each version:
   10 points if it can keep user score
   10 points if it can keep computer score
   10 points if the computer choice is carried over, used, re-generated
   10 points if it calculates correctly (paper > rock > scissors > paper)
    5 points for a clean interface
    5 for any extra work

Homework Three: will be assigned tomorrow, will be due Oct. 7, I think.
   10 for the creation of the table to keep state
   30 points (5points x 6 for each column created)
   10 for properly generating an id
   10 for using it to retrieve state
   10 for properly and correctly updating it
   10 for storing the new state in the database
   10 for reporting the state to the user
    5 for a clean interface
    5 for any extra work

I will let the students know your office has changed. I will also tell
them your web server will have important information about grading and
regrading (schedule, updates, etc.)
