List Subject: A202/I211/A598 Midterm Exam tomorrow (March 2, 11:15am) Dear A202/A598 and I211 Friends, The midterm exam is in class tomorrow. You will have to solve one problem. The interface will use only buttons and textfields and not even too many of those. The focus is on the logic in the listener, and on writing the program the way we have so far: no more than one listener and build the interface without extending JFrame directly. Important announcement: the textbook is not necessary for this test, and it might prove to be a distraction. So the test will be closed-book, no resources will be allowed on the test. You can ask questions, of course. I know we originally discussed allowing you to bring the text to the exam but it might be more trouble than it's worth (for this exam) and it would give you a false sense of security, and it could easily turn into a major distraction, so we think it's much much better if you know we will only use buttons and textfields and possibly (text) labels and that the logic in the the action listener is what we are most concerned about. And it will be safer and more efficient for you too if you are just you with your thoughts and not being tempted to think that you might benefit from browsing through that thick, heavy book during the exam when you would in fact not. So the exam is closed-book. One problem, like the ones we practiced in lab and class. If you have any questions or need any help please let me know. ... Adrian
